The House of Prayer's Statement of Faith

We accept the Holy Scriptures as the revealed will of God, the all-sufficient rule for faith and practice, and for the purpose of maintaining general unity, adopt the following statement of fundamental truths:

1. The Bible is the Word of God.
Inspired by God Himself (2 Timothy 3:15-17)
Infallible (Matthew 5:18; Revelation 22:18,19)
Authoritative, revealed will of God (Hebrews 4:12; John 7:17)

2. There is one true God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Mark 12:29; 1 John 5:6-8).

3. Jesus Christ is perfect Deity and perfect humanity (John 3:18; Mark 2:27, 28).His virgin birth (John 3:16)
His sinless life (1 Peter 2:22)
His miracles (Acts 10:38)
His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood (1 Corinthians 15:3, 4)
His bodily resurrection (Ephesians 1:20)
His ascension to the right hand of the Father (Ephesians 1:20)
His personal return in power and glory (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)
His millennial reign (Revelation 19:11-16, 20:1-7)

4. The salvation of man is provided by the shed blood of Jesus Christ grace through faith.
Believing in the heart that God raised Jesus from the dead and confessing with the mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord will result in man's salvation (Romans 3:21-30; 10:8-10).
Regeneration of the Holy Spirit is essential for the new birth (Galatians 4:4-7).

5. The atonement of Jesus and His resurrection provide deliverance from sickness, disease, and mental torments. These privileges are for the believers (Isaiah 53:4; Matthew 8:16, 17; Mark 16:18; John 5:6-14; 1 Peter 2:24; Colossians 2:15; 1:13; Ephesians 1:20, 21).

6. The resurrection is of both the saved and the lost: for those who are saved, it is “unto the resurrection of life”; and for the lost, it is “unto the resurrection of damnation” (John 5:24, 28, 29).

7. The church is the body of Christ, the dwelling place and home of God through the Spirit. Each believer born of God’s Spirit is an integral part of the general assembly and the “church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven” (Ephesians 1:22, 23; 2:19, 22; Hebrews 12:23).

8. Water baptism is an ordinance of the church (Matthew 28:19; Acts 10:47, 48), symbolizing to the world that one has died with Jesus and has also been raised with Him in resurrection power to walk in newness of life (Romans 6:4-11; Ephesians 2:6).

9. The Lord's Supper is an ordinance of the church, symbolizing the broken body and shed blood of Jesus Christ as “the new covenant” between God and man (1 Corinthians 11:24, 25, 28).

10. The evidence of the infilling of the Holy Ghost, which is the promise of the Father, is the physical sign of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance and the subsequent manifestation of spiritual power in public testimony and service after the new birth (Acts 2:4; 19:2, 6; 1:8; 2:42, 43; Matthew 3:11).

11. Total Prosperity includes all areas of life: Spiritual (John 3:3, 16), Mental (2 Timothy 1:7; Romans 12:2), Physical (Isaiah 53:4, 5; Matthew 8:17), Financial (3 John 1:2; Malachi 3:10, 11), and Social (Proverbs 3:4).

Q:What is salvation and why get saved?
A:We believe in hell and eternal retribution. The one who physically dies in his sins without Christ is hopelessly and eternally lost (Revelation 19:20). Salvation is redemption from eternal damnation and restoration back to God (Mark 16:16). We believe man is a created being made in the likeness and image of God, but through Adam's transgression and fall, sin came into the world. "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).
Q:How do I get saved?
A:We believe man's first step toward salvation is godly sorrow that worketh repentance. The new birth (being born-again) is necessary to all men, and when fulfilled produces eternal life (II Corinthians 7:10). We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He was born of a virgin, was crucified, died, was buried, and on the third day He arose from the dead and ascended on high where He took His seat at the right hand of God the Father Almighty until His enemies become His footstool (1 Corinthians 15:3-4).
Q:Do I need to be baptized?
A:We believe in water baptism by immersion, which is a direct commandment of Jesus and is for Believers only. (Acts 2:38; Acts 16:33; Matthew 28:19)
Q:What about speaking in tongues?
A:We believe in the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Holy Spirit Himself gives utterance. (Acts 2:38-39)
Q:Now that I'm saved, what's next?
A:We believe the Bible teaches that without Holiness no man shall see the Lord. The doctrine of Sanctification is a definite, yet progressive work of grace (Hebrews 12:14).

Prayer of Salvation

Heavenly Father, I come to You in the Name of Your Son Jesus Christ. You said in Your Word that whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved (Romans 10:13). Father, I am calling on Jesus right now. I believe He died on the cross for my sins, that He was raised from the dead on the third day, and He's alive right now. Lord Jesus, I am asking You now, come into my heart. Live Your life in me and through me. I repent of my sins and surrender myself totally and completely to You. Heavenly Father, by faith I now confess Jesus Christ as my new Lord and Savior from this day forward, I dedicate my life to serving Him.
